My husband died suddenly from a cardiac arrest in April, aged 40, leaving me a widow at 38 and our son (age 5) and daughter (age 2) without a daddy - I chose β€œHome” for the main funeral song, it gets me everytime, how I wish he was still home with us. I also picked times like these and my hero as well. A true foos fan, miss you every day my love πŸ’”

Even if they aren’t gearing up for anything in particular. It’s great to see this timeline of memories from all the different releases down the years.

Makes you think what you were doing at the time and how you felt when that music reached you.

Really enjoying the people and the content of this platform.

Good for you Substack

I was just thinking about how this specific Substack is a time capsule for my life. The Foos have always been there in some capacity. I was born in 88 and grew up on the β€œgrunge” era. Melvins, Green River, MudHoney, Sonic Youth etc …but I can’t remember a time the Foos weren’t playing in my home growing up. Each album marks a milestone in my life πŸ₯ΊπŸ–€πŸ©΅

I can totally see where you’re coming from! I think for me, I grew up on some of Foo’s influences like Queen. So it was so good to find out how much of an influence they were on Dave and Taylor.

It made me feel at home

❀️ this album so much, so many Footastic songs on it.

I got to hear Let it Die at my first show! I was very new to Foos (Mel 18), it was my husband who wanted to go so I’d been listening to C&G and the hits as homework!

Then they played this song, starting off quiet and pretty and then boom, huge build up and that scream at the end! I was totally blown away by it and went home and played it on loop!

Then after that song and the show, confirmed fan!

Huge. Great album, great memories.

I discovered it at the local record store shortly after it came out, The Pretender rang in my ears and that's how I got crazy about Foo Fighters forever.

A few months later, I saw the band for the first timeΒ β€” I'll never forget the show in Perth on 21st April 2008, emotional and powerful.

So… Thank you guys for the music, the good times, the joy and light that you bring into my life day after day ✨
